Read this part.
The Tiny Risks Method suggests optional things you might do in real life. You choose whether to act on anything. You are responsible for your own safety, judgment, and outcomes — including ordinary risks that come with everyday activities.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and JV Pursuits LLC(“Jake,” “we,” “us”) governing your access to and use of Tiny Risks and The Tiny Risks Method(the “Service”). By creating an account, clicking to accept these Terms, or using the Service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Educational content only — not professional advice
The Service is an educational course about behavior, uncertainty, and taking small voluntary actions. It is not therapy, counseling, medical advice, mental-health treatment, legal advice, financial advice, or any other professional service. Jake is not your therapist, doctor, lawyer, or financial advisor, and no professional-client relationship is created.
The content is general in nature and may not fit your circumstances. Do not disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something in the course. If you are in crisis or may harm yourself or others, contact emergency services or a qualified professional immediately — do not rely on this course.
2. You choose what to do — we do not direct your actions
The course may describe, suggest, or prompt optional exercises or actions you could take in daily life (“Tiny Risks” or “Risks”). These are ideas and examples, not instructions, commands, assignments, or orders. You alone decide:
- whether to attempt any suggestion at all;
- which suggestion to attempt, if any;
- how, when, where, and with whom you do it;
- whether to modify, skip, or stop at any point.
Jake does not supervise, monitor, direct, or control your conduct in the physical world, online, or anywhere else. We cannot see what you do after you close the browser. You are solely responsible for evaluating whether any action is safe, legal, and appropriate for you.
Do not do anything illegal, that violates someone else's rights, that you lack capacity to perform safely, or that a reasonable person would consider reckless in your situation.
3. Assumption of risk
You understand that life carries inherent risk. Actions you take — or choose not to take — in connection with the course can result in outcomes that are unpredictable, including physical injury, emotional distress, financial loss, property damage, legal consequences, reputational harm, interpersonal conflict, or other harm.
This includes risks associated with ordinary activities that may appear in course examples or prompts, such as walking or exercising outdoors, traveling, interacting with strangers, posting on social media, having difficult conversations, trying new experiences, or making changes to your routine. Even low-stakes actions can have high-stakes outcomes. (Crossing the street is a useful example: most of the time it is fine; sometimes it is not.)
You voluntarily and knowingly assume all risks — known and unknown — arising from your participation in the Service and any real-world actions you take (or refrain from taking) that are related to, inspired by, or coincidentally timed with course content.
4. Release and waiver of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you release, waive, and forever discharge JV Pursuits LLC, Tiny Risks, and their owners, affiliates, contractors, and representatives from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and causes of action of every kind — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise — arising out of or related to:
- your use of (or inability to use) the Service;
- your reliance on any course content;
- any Tiny Risk or other action you take in the real world;
- any interaction with other users or third parties;
- any content posted by you or other users.
This release includes claims that you were harmed because you followed, misinterpreted, adapted, or were inspired by a course suggestion — for example, that you were injured while taking a walk, harmed in a social interaction, or suffered any other consequence after doing something suggested or exemplified in the course.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain waivers. In those jurisdictions, this release applies only to the maximum extent permitted by law and does not waive liability that cannot be waived (such as gross negligence or intentional misconduct where prohibited).
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, JV Pursuits LLC and Tiny Risks will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of the Service or any real-world actions you take.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD $100. The Service is currently offered free of charge, so (a) may be zero.
The Service and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
6. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless JV Pursuits LLC and Tiny Risksfrom any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your user content, your real-world actions, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
7. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep your email secure.
8. User content and community features
You may submit text, audio, video, images, comments, and other content (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content, but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and process it as needed to operate the Service — including moderation, transcription, and (where applicable) showing approved content to other signed-in users.
Onboarding submissions are treated as private. Other submissions and comments may be visible to other users when approved or posted. Do not submit content you are not willing to have stored and potentially displayed. You represent that you have the rights to submit your User Content and that it does not violate law or third-party rights.
We may remove, hide, or refuse content at our discretion, especially content that is abusive, illegal, spam, or otherwise harmful to the community.
9. Intellectual property
The course videos, scripts, design, and other materials on the Service are owned by JV Pursuits LLC or licensed to us. You may access them for personal, non-commercial use as part of the course. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, publicly perform, or create derivative works from the course materials except as allowed by law or with our written permission.
10. Email and communications
By signing up, you agree we may send transactional emails (such as sign-in links and replies to your submissions). We may also send course-related emails; you can opt out of non-essential marketing emails as described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (including assumptions of risk, releases, limitations of liability, and indemnification) survive termination.
12. Disputes and governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and you consent to their jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires a different forum.
Informal resolution first. Before filing a claim, contact us at jake@tinyrisks.com and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. If changes are material, we may require you to accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the Service. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
14. General
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights under these Terms; we may assign ours. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
